NRMC Welcomes Dr. Steven Jackson

Natchitoches Regional Medical Center (NRMC) is pleased to announce that General Surgeon Dr. Steven Jackson has joined NRMC’s General Surgery Associates (GSA) and will work with Dr. William Ball, Jr., ensuring continual surgical care right here in Natchitoches for emergency surgeries, scheduled surgeries and elective surgeries for both inpatients and outpatients.
“We are excited to have Dr. Jackson join on our team,” explained Kirk Soileau, CEO. “He possesses the background, training and dedication to ensure outstanding surgical care. His expertise includes robotic surgery, wound care and hyperbaric oxygen therapy, and single incision laparoscopic surgery. He also has advanced training and experience in breast surgery, hernia repairs, laparoscopic colon surgery, bariatrics (weight loss surgery), and upper and lower endoscopy,” Soileau noted.
Dr. Jackson comes to NRMC from Florida where he was an attending general surgeon with BayCare Medical Group in Newport Richey. Previously, he was with the Surgery Clinic in Gadsden, Alabama, and with Forrest City Medical Center in Arkansas. During his career, Dr. Jackson has served in Directorships for Wound Care Management and also the Credentialing Committee, as well as, Chief of Surgery.
Dr. Jackson earned a Doctor of Osteopathy from Oklahoma State University College of Health Sciences. He then completed his internship and residency in General Surgery at Suncoast Hospital in Largo, Florida. He holds an undergraduate degree in Physical Therapy from Florida A&M University and began his healthcare career as a Staff Physical Therapist at HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital in Tallahassee, Florida.
Dr. Jackson has academic affiliations with William Carey University College of Osteopathic Medicine as a member of the Adjunct Clinical Faculty and the Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine’s Clinical Faculty.
Dr. Jackson, his wife Natasha, and their three children will reside in Natchitoches.
