NRMC Receives 4 Star Rating on Quality
On July 27, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) launched its updated Star Rating System on its Hospital Compare website. Natchitoches Regional Medical Center is pleased to announce that the hospital received 4 Stars for quality.
According to CMS, “The new Overall Hospital Quality Star Rating summarizes data from existing quality measures publicly reported on Hospital Compare into a single star rating for each hospital, making it easier for consumers to compare hospitals and interpret complex quality information.” CMS notes, "In addition, researchers found that hospitals with more stars on the Hospital Compare website have tended to have lower death and readmission rates."
“Out of 3,716 hospitals nationwide, 102 hospitals received ratings of 5 Stars, and 360 hospitals received 4 Stars based on HCAHPS and Quality Metrics. NRMC is the only 4 Star hospital within 60 miles,” explained Kirk Soileau, Chief Executive Officer of Natchitoches Regional Medical Center. "I want to congratulate our Associates and Medical Staff for their dedication to the patients we serve and their relentless commitment to quality care.”
