Orthopedic Care
From sports medicine to total joint replacements, Natchitoches Regional Medical Center offers a wide range of orthopedic services and a comprehensive continuum of care. From diagnostics to treatment, patients have access to outstanding care and services.
Emergency Care
In the event of an emergency following an accident, sports injury or trauma, the NRMC Emergency Department provides around-the-clock emergency care for patients with broken bones, torn cartilages, muscle pain or other orthopedic concerns. Orthopedic surgeons rotate call as a service to the ER and are immediately available should emergency orthopedic consultation or surgery be needed.
Surgical Services
The Surgery Department’s orthopedic team routinely performs hip and knee replacements, surgeries for broken bones, and surgeries related to torn ligaments and muscles. Each OR suite is well equipped with state-of-the-art technology. From computerized medical records and charting to high definition laparoscopic technology, C-Arm for imaging during fluoroscopy, robotics and more, NRMC offers outstanding orthopedic care in the heart of Natchitoches.
The Surgery Department team includes experienced registered nurses and surgical techs who work alongside the surgeons and nurse anesthetists. The department’s quality measures consistently rank high and demonstrate the team’s commitment to patient care.
Many surgeries are offered on an outpatient basis. NRMC’s Same Day Surgery department assists patients and families before and after their procedures. The unit offers a comfortable setting with a low nurse-to-patient ratio, good outcomes, and high patient satisfaction scores.
Sports Medicine
The official sponsor of Northwestern State University athletics, Natchitoches Regional Medical Center offers many services for athletes including providing annual physicals for high school and college athletes, on-site services at local games, and many educational programs. The NRMC team understands the challenges of athletes and strives to help them stay healthy. Preventing injuries is a key focus of the entire orthopedic team.
Working in conjunction with the orthopedists at NRMC, the physical therapists and athletic trainers offer inpatient and outpatient physical therapy for patients experiencing sports injuries. Outpatient physical therapy is offered in conjunction with PRISM in Natchitoches. Inpatient care is available for patients admitted to the hospital for their injury or surgery.
