Volunteer Opportunities
At Natchitoches Regional Medical Center, community members give generously of their time and talents to help the hospital and its facilities better serve patients, residents and families.
Volunteers provide many services including assisting administrative departments, transporter services, special projects on the nursing floors, customer experience improvement and more.
Volunteers also help in the nursery, surgery and intensive care waiting rooms, and they assist patients with directions, help staff the front desk, help patients with wheelchairs, and more. Wherever you look, you will see men and women volunteering and providing the hospital with important services.
All volunteers must complete an application, be current in immunizations, submit to a thorough background check and attend an orientation session to learn about the hospital’s policies including patient safety.
To learn more about becoming a volunteer or to being the application process, visit our application page.

NRMC Guild
The Natchitoches Regional Medical Center Guild (sometimes called the Auxiliary) has a long history at NRMC. Through the years, the Guild has tirelessly raised funds to support the hospital.
The Guild’s gift shop, located in the main lobby, opens Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., and the proceeds raised from the gift shop as well as other fundraisers are donated to the hospital for important projects. Through the years, the Guild has helped with costs associated with special equipment, signage, and other needs. They also sponsored the Community Health Needs Assessment Summit which brought together community leaders to discuss the health needs of our parish.
The Guild also raises funds through periodic jewelry sales, book fairs, and more.
Visit the gift shop! From personal items for patients and visitors including toothpaste, toothbrushes, and other toiletry items to balloons and cards and everything needed for get well wishes, you’ll find the gift shop has just what you’re looking for. There are also items for special occasions such as holiday gift giving, birthdays, and anniversaries.

- Works with the hospital for either short or long- term commitments, depending on the project.
- Volunteers his or her time, typically 1.5 – to two hours, one weeknight, every other month.
Patient and family advisers provide a voice that represents all patients and families of patients who receive care at NRMC. They partner with hospital staff and administrators to help improve the quality of our hospital’s care for all patients and family members.
