NRMC Orthopedic Associates
Orthopedic Associates is a medical practice of Natchitoches Regional Medical Center, and it further expands orthopedic care in Natchitoches.
As a board-eligible orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Duke diagnoses and treats patients for a wide range of orthopedic concerns including arthritis, broken bones, torn ligaments, joint replacements and more. His goal is to help patients achieve a better quality of life through improved mobility.
Total Joint Replacement
Using the latest proven technologies and a patient centered approach, Dr. Duke offers hip and knee joint replacement services to the central Louisiana region that rival those offered at major metropolitan total joint centers.
He is a fellowship-trained total joint surgeon from Colorado Joint Replacement in Denver, which is one of the leading joint centers in the country. He performed his residency and medical school training at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Using computer assisted total knee replacement, Dr. Duke is able to customize each patient’s procedure to fit his or her unique anatomy and potentially shorten their recovery time. Other techniques to aid in his patients’ recoveries include multimodal pain control and anesthesia services provided at NRMC.
The fast track and rapid recovery protocols allow for same-day (outpatient) total joint replacements and also opiod-free total joint replacement, for certain patients.
For hip replacements, Dr. Duke provides the anterior hip replacement as well as posterior hip replacements. He also provides revision surgery (re-dos) of hips and knees, as well as partial joint replacements.
Dr. Duke is on the Editorial Board of both The Journal of Arthroplasty and Annals of Joint, and he has published numerous articles and chapters on joint replacement.
On a personal note, he holds an undergraduate degree from LSU and was a proud member of the Golden Band from Tigerland.
In the event of an emergency, Dr. Duke is available to see patients in the Emergency Department at NRMC.
