About Our Health System
One Great Hospital. One Great Health System
In addition to its 96-bed flagship hospital, NRMC has become a regional healthcare system offering a broad continuum of innovative care. NRMC now operates 20 health-related clinics and facilities including: Compass Behavioral Health Services, Breast Center, Wound Care Services, The Courtyard of Natchitoches, General Surgery Associates, Orthopedic Associates, ENT Associates, Pulmonology Associates, OB/GYN Associates, Urology Associates, Natchitoches Imaging Center, North Natchitoches Medical Clinic, Pain Management Institute, Regional Cardiology Clinic, Sleep Center, Primary Care Clinic, and Walk In Clinic. NRMC’s newest service lines are the NRMC Cancer Center and Medicine Associates.
What all these programs and services have in common is a commitment to excellence. Everything ultimately pares down to one purpose: creating a positive patient experience where the community can safely and conveniently receive excellent care in Natchitoches Parish where they live and work.
Patient Safety
At NRMC Associates, our Board, Physicians, and Volunteers are succeeding in creating a Zero Harm culture where everyone is positive, proactive, and accountable. NRMC is a learning organization where yesterday’s events and efforts serve as a baseline for today’s improvements; where people think about people and how best to serve; and where professionals acknowledge and address not only successes, but also any failures, so improvements are made each and every day.
Economic Cornerstone
At NRMC, the Board, Associates, and Physicians share a culture committed to sound financial practices that lead not only to the health system’s sustainability but also to the economic success of the parish and region. NRMC has become an economic cornerstone for the region providing over 800 NRMC jobs and hundreds of professional relationships with area businesses. As a result, many of the dollars that come into NRMC for patient and resident care flow back out into the community, thereby positively impacting the area economy.

Our Community’s First Choice
Although Natchitoches Regional Medical Center has earned many awards for quality and service, the greatest honor NRMC holds is the trust of our patients and their families. Record numbers of families across Natchitoches, Winn, and Sabine parishes are making NRMC their first choice for healthcare and choosing NRMC for their health journeys.
As a result, NRMC has become intricately woven into their life stories and family histories. Each day, they share stories of lifesaving care in the emergency room, surgery and medical units, as well as, the many joyful moments of recoveries and births. These remarkable moments are at the heart of all that NRMC Associates do. Our core purpose is and always will be to care for our community.
Service District Hospital
In 1956, the people of Natchitoches Parish passed a special property tax to raise money to build a small hospital. The community’s needs have grown over the past six decades, and so has the hospital. Today, NRMC is the largest rural hospital in the state and serves, Natchitoches, Winn, and Sabine parishes and is the sole healthcare system in a 35-mile radius. It offers more specialty services than other rural hospitals in the region such as cancer care, perinatal services, DaVinci robotic surgery, and total joint replacement to name just a few.
Board of Commissioners:
NRMC is governed by a seven-member Board of Commissioners appointed by the Parish Council.
