NRMC’s Emergency Department Receives National Award
Emergency Department Receives National Award
Natchitoches Regional Medical Center is pleased to announce the Emergency Department has been named 4Q 2015 Studer Group® Emergency Department of the Quarter. NRMC was selected out of 600 hospitals nationwide.
As noted by the Studer Group, NRMC’s Emergency Department has improved patient satisfaction and decreased wait times. The patient satisfaction ranking is now in the 96th percentile for the month of May, and the average wait time from registration to seeing a physician was 20 minutes for last month. This new benchmark for NRMC exceeds the national average by more than 4 minutes. Meanwhile the demand for emergency services at NRMC is at an all time high level with record numbers of patients turning to NRMC during an emergency.
“Each quarter, Studer Group honors an organization that stands out from its peers and serves as a premiere example of what is right in healthcare,” explained Karen Smith, MSN, RN, NE-BC, ED Intensive Coach for the Studer Group. “It is evident that the NRMC associates and physicians have created a culture of clinical, service and operational excellence.”
“By streamlining processes and focusing on best practices to create outstanding quality and customer service, the Emergency Department has successfully transformed the patient experience,” explained Kirk Soileau, Chief Executive Officer. “I am proud of the Emergency team and the whole NRMC family for their teamwork, dedication, and commitment to our patients.”
“Our vision at NRMC is threefold. We want to be in the 95th percentile for patient satisfaction as measured by Press Ganey, be recognized as a Top 100 Hospital, and earn the Malcolm Baldridge Award,” explained Soileau. “This award from the Studer Group demonstrates the progress we are making toward our goals.”
