Diagnoses and Treatment
Urologist Dr. Kenneth Perego diagnoses and treats both men and women for conditions and diseases affecting the urinary tract — kidneys, ureters, bladder and urethra. He sees patients for urinary retention, incontinence, and bladder infections, as well as, patients with advanced diseases such as cancer effecting the kidney, bladder, and ureters.
For male patients, his expertise includes diagnosing conditions related to the male reproductive organs including prostatitis, prostate cancer, testicular cancer and more. He is experienced in the use of Space Oar which protects healthy tissue during prostate radiation treatments, as well as, many other state-of-the art procedures for the treatment of prostatitis, including cryotherapy.
For patients in need of surgical options, Dr. Kenneth Perego’s expertise includes laparoscopic surgery, cryosurgery, robotic surgery, reconstructive surgery and other highly specialized procedures. If surgery is needed, Dr. Perego performs surgery at NRMC on both an outpatient basis and if needed, as an inpatient hospital stay.
Dr. Perego is a past president of the Louisiana Urological Society and works actively to educate the community about men’s health issues and specifically prostate cancers and their link to other hereditary cancers.
