NRMC Receives Quality Texas Foundation’s Performance Excellence Award
The Quality Texas Foundation, the number one producer of National Baldrige Recipients, has selected Natchitoches Regional Medical Center for its highest recognition – the Governor’s Award for Performance Excellence.
“By following the Baldrige framework, we found our ground game,” explained Kirk Soileau, CEO. “And today, we are humbled to receive the Texas Award for Performance Excellence. This is a great honor. Early on, we realized that to become a high reliability organization, we needed everyone on board with our goal of providing outstanding care and services, so we began to train our leaders, engage our associates, and share our vision of excellence with our community. We committed to learn all that we possibly could from the best practices of great organizations. That’s how our transformation to excellence began,” Soileau said.
Today, NRMC is listed as one of the nation’s TOP 100 SafeCare Hospitals for 2019; this is the third distinction in the past four years. In addition, NRMC received the Louisiana Performance Excellence Award – Level 2 – for 2018; the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Pathway to Excellence designation; The Louisiana Rural Health Association’s recognition for “Excellence in Financial Strength” and “Excellence in Outcomes”; the Joint Commission named NRMC as a Pioneer in Quality; and the Franklin Trust Ratings designated NRMC as a 2018 Top 10 hospital nationally for its financial strength and efficiency.
NRMC’s sound financial practices have led to its sustainability, and the health system now serves as an economic cornerstone of the region. NRMC provides over 750 Natchitoches hospital jobs, makes a $151 million impact on the local economy, and generates $33 million in wages and benefits.
“It is a privilege to be a part of the NRMC team. They are true champions, ‘inspiring excellence everyday, and we are excited to receive this award for performance excellence,” explained Soileau.
