Phyllis Mason, MD, Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Phyllis Mason’s role as Chief Medical Officer is to act as liaison between Administration and the Medical Staff. She is intricately involved with quality initiatives at NRMC. She oversees the Medical Staff office and ensures appropriate privileging and credentialing, the Hospitalist program, and Anesthesia services. She is responsible for 4 key departments – Pharmacy, Laboratory, Radiology and EMS. As a board certified OBGYN, she provides on-call support in obstetrics and gynecological services.
Dr. Mason received her medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans. She completed her OBYGN training at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii.
She holds a Master’s of Public Health degree with an emphasis in Health Care Administration from the University of Texas at Tyler. She was recently selected to serve as an alternate on the Regional Policy Board of the American Hospital Association. She is board certified with the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a member of the American College of OBGYN. She is a veteran, having served in the United States Army.
