Fawn demonstrated extraordinary compassion and leadership while caring for a young patient facing end-of-life circumstances. Responding immediately to an urgent need, she ensured a seamless admission and coordinated closely between hospice and hospital teams to provide timely, dignified care. Throughout the patient’s stay, Fawn not only delivered attentive clinical support but also surrounded the family with calm, reassurance, and emotional strength during an unimaginable time. Her ability to anticipate needs, preserve dignity, and offer unwavering presence brought comfort and peace when it was needed most. Fawn’s professionalism, empathy, and heart left a lasting impact on all involved and exemplify the very best of nursing care.

The DAISY Foundation was established by the family of J. Patrick Barnes after he died from complications of the autoFimmune disease ITP in 1999. During his hospitalization, they deeply appreciated the care and compassion shown to Patrick and his entire family.
