Orthopedics and Sports Medicine
From sports medicine to total joint replacements, Natchitoches Regional Medical Center, (NRMC) offers a wide range of orthopedic services and a comprehensive continuum of care.
In the event of an emergency following an accident, sports injury or trauma, the NRMC Emergency Department provides around the clock emergency care for patients with broken bones, torn cartilages, muscle pain or other orthopedic concerns. Orthopedic surgeons rotate call as a service to the ER and are available should emergency consultation or surgery be needed.
The Surgery Department is experienced in orthopedics and has the expertise in a wide range of surgeries including fractured hips, dislocated joints, carpal tunnel, total joint replacement, repair of torn cartilage and other injuries and conditions.
Natchitoches Regional Medical Center offers many services for athletes including providing annual physicals for high school and college athletes, on-site services at local games, and educational programs.
Working in conjunction with the orthopedic doctors on staff at NRMC, the therapists and athletic trainers offer inpatient and outpatient physical therapy for patients experiencing a sports injury. Outpatient physical therapy is offered in conjunction with PRISM at two locations: Natchitoches and Many.
